Legal directory submissions

Legal directory submissions, prepared for you to review and submit

RankingsReady prepares legal directory submissions for law firms and barristers' sets: Chambers, Legal 500, Best Lawyers, Benchmark Litigation, IFLR1000 and more. We draft the submission, check the referees and plan the deadlines. You review the work and submit it.

Two ways to work with us

Pick whichever suits your team. You can mix the two across practice areas.

Option 1

You send your matters

Send last year's submission, matter notes, deal lists or pitch material in whatever shape they are in. We turn them into a finished submission in the directory's format and come back with specific questions where facts are missing.

Option 2

We gather them for you

We collect matters from public sources (court records, deal announcements, press releases, your own website) and send your lawyers short written questionnaires to fill the gaps. No partner meetings to schedule, no chasing by your team.

How it works, step by step

What you get back

  1. A polished submission

Written in each directory's own template and format, within its matter and word limits. "Work highlights" (the matters you put forward as evidence) are specific: client, value, role, outcome and why it mattered.

  2. A checked referee spreadsheet

Referees are the clients a directory contacts for feedback. We check names, roles, contact details and the matters each one can speak to, in the layout the directory asks for.

  3. A deadline plan

Submission and referee dates for every guide and practice area you enter, with who owes what and when.

Why firms use us

Researcher-ready specifics, not generic copy

Directory researchers read submissions closely. Chambers alone receives about 62,000 a year, and researchers have warned publicly against generic, essay-like text. We make every line a specific, provable fact.

Every directory in one place

One team handles your Chambers, Legal 500, Best Lawyers, Benchmark and IFLR1000 work, so the same matter is not rewritten five times by five people for five templates.

Matter information kept organised for next cycle

Submission prep commonly takes 20 to 60 hours per practice area, much of it rebuilding matter data from scratch. We keep your matters and referees organised so next year starts from this year's work.

Confidentiality built in

We keep your information confidential and sign an NDA on request. Confidential matters are marked the way each directory expects, and you can send matters anonymised. Read how we handle your data.

Submission deadlines

Six dates from our deadline calendar, in date order. The full deadline calendar covers every directory, with downloads for your own calendar.

Questions

Who is RankingsReady for?

Law firms and barristers' sets of any size, in any country, that submit to legal directories such as Chambers, Legal 500, Best Lawyers, Benchmark Litigation and IFLR1000. It suits business development and marketing teams who need more hands at deadline time, and firms without a dedicated team.

Do you guarantee rankings?

No. Directory researchers decide rankings, and no one can promise an outcome. Rankings are usually published as bands or tiers, groups of firms or lawyers ranked together. We prepare stronger, researcher-ready submissions: specific, provable facts in each directory's own format, with referees checked and deadlines planned.

What do you need from us?

Either your matters and notes, or permission to gather them for you from public sources and short written questionnaires to your lawyers. We also need your referee contacts and a reviewer who can approve the final drafts before you submit.

How do you handle confidential matters?

We mark confidential matters the way each directory expects, and you can send matters anonymised. We keep your information confidential, never sell or share it, and we will sign an NDA on request. See confidentiality.

Which directories do you cover?

Chambers and Partners guides, Legal 500, Best Lawyers, Benchmark Litigation, IFLR1000, Managing IP (IP STARS), Lexology Index (formerly Who's Who Legal), Lawdragon and others. See all directories.
