Website terms of use

These terms cover your use of this website, including the deadline calendar and directory guides. They do not cover submission work for your firm, which is governed by a separate written agreement.

Effective date: 23 October 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using this website, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you use the site on behalf of a firm or other organisation, you agree on its behalf. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. Who we are

This website and the RankingsReady service are operated by Futurist IP, a company based in Ontario, Canada ("Futurist IP", "we", "us").

3. Information on this site

The deadline calendar, directory guides, articles and downloads are general information only. They are provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of accuracy, completeness or timeliness.

We check each deadline against its official source, but directories change their schedules and requirements, sometimes at short notice. Always confirm deadlines and submission requirements on the directory's official pages before you rely on them. You are responsible for meeting any deadline that applies to your firm.

4. No professional or legal advice

Nothing on this site is legal, regulatory or other professional advice, and using the site does not create a client relationship with us. Questions about your professional obligations, such as client confidentiality or marketing rules, should go to your firm's own advisers or regulator.

5. Directories and trademarks

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any legal directory or publisher we write about. Directory names, publication names and other trademarks mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the publications concerned.

6. No guarantee of rankings or outcomes

Directories decide rankings through their own independent research. We aim to help firms prepare stronger, researcher-ready submissions, but we do not and cannot guarantee any ranking, listing, tier, band or other outcome.

7. Engagements

Any submission work we do for your firm is governed by a separate written engagement agreement. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement prevails for the engagement. Information on this site is not an offer capable of acceptance.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the site for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
  • send spam, malicious code, or false or misleading information through the contact form, or use the form for anything other than genuine enquiries;
  • scrape, crawl or download the site with automated tools in a way that places an unreasonable load on it or gets around rate limits (ordinary search-engine indexing is welcome);
  • try to disrupt the site, probe or bypass its security, or access parts of it not meant for public use;
  • copy substantial parts of the site, or the calendar data, and republish or resell them as your own.

We may block access or remove submissions that break these rules.

9. Our content and your licence

The text, compilation of data, design and other content of this site are owned by Futurist IP or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Material quoted from third parties belongs to its owners.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to view the site and to download and use the calendar files (such as calendar and spreadsheet downloads) for your own firm's internal planning. You may link to any page. Any other use needs our written permission.

10. Links to other sites

We link to directories' official pages and other sources for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and all content are provided without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or that the site will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Futurist IP and its directors, officers, employees and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, opportunity, data or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the site or reliance on its content, including a missed or changed deadline, even if we were told such loss was possible.

Because use of this website is free, our total liability for all claims relating to the site is limited to one hundred Canadian dollars. This limit does not apply to liability under an engagement agreement, which that agreement governs.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Futurist IP against claims, losses and reasonable costs, including legal fees, arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.

14. Governing law and venue

These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site, are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts located in Toronto, Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, and you submit to their jurisdiction, except where the law of your place of residence gives you a non-waivable right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

15. General

Severability. If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the affected part is applied to the greatest extent allowed.

Entire agreement. These terms and our privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and us about your use of the site. A separate engagement agreement governs any work we do for you.

No waiver. If we do not enforce a term, we do not give up our right to enforce it later.

Changes. We may update these terms. The version on this page, with its effective date, applies from that date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
